VITA Program Celebrates Success

By May 14, 2019 No Comments

United Way of Tarrant County’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program had a lot to cheer about at their annual Volunteer Appreciation Celebration. This tax season volunteers helped:

  • Process more than 9,000 income tax returns for low-income families and individuals;
  • Generate more than $16 million in tax refunds;
  • Tax filers save more than $130,000.

Since 2009, VITA has helped low-income Tarrant County residents with financial stability and resiliency. To date, volunteers have filed more than 54,000 tax returns generating about $96 million in refunds.

Thank you to our volunteers and for showing how you LIVE UNITED for Tarrant County. To learn more about VITA, visit www.unitedwaytarrant.org/vita/.
