Employee Spotlight: Andrew McGee

Tuesday, May 20, 2025
Andrew McGee, Corporate Relations Manager

Andrew McGee brings energy, heart and a strong sense of purpose to his role as corporate relations manager at UWTC. In this role, each day is an opportunity to connect people with purpose, and that’s exactly what fuels him.

A Burleson native and proud Texas A&M Aggie, Andrew’s passion for service took root early through leadership roles and volunteerism in high school and college.  That same energy now powers his work at UWTC.

“There’s no such thing as a typical day here, which makes my job exciting,” he said. “Something’s always happening, and there are always incredible people stepping up to help.”

Andrew meets with corporate partners, gives presentations about the impact of our programs and collaborates with local leaders to create long-term support for UWTC’s mission. One of his most memorable moments was speaking with a donor who reflected on UWTC’s consistent role in helping the community through decades of change.

“As a relatively new employee, hearing from someone outside the organization talk about all the amazing work I was about to be a part of was an incredible and inspiring feeling,” said Andrew.

Andrew is especially energized by Emerging Leaders United, UWTC’s network of young professionals committed to improving education and driving positive change in Tarrant County. In addition to networking and leadership development, members take part in hands-on volunteer projects.

“There’s something powerful about being in a room full of people who care deeply about growing and giving back,” he said. “It’s inspiring and motivating.”

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys catching concerts at Billy Bob’s, cheering on the Dallas Stars with his wife and spending time with their Mini Aussie, Tucker. Fun fact: Although born in different months, all three share the 20th as their birth date.
