At the 5th Annual Investing in Impact luncheon May 8, United Way of Tarrant County’s Women United Network proudly announced the recipients of its 2025 Women’s Impact Fund grants. With a mission of uplifting women and girls across our community, Women United awarded $75,000 in total funding to four local organizations that are removing barriers, expanding access and creating transformative change.
Meet the 2025 Grantees:
- F.L.Y. Girlz Academy Inc. is rewriting the narrative for young girls by giving them the confidence, mentorship and emotional tools to succeed in school and in life. The organization plans to use this impact grant to strengthen internal operations through enhanced financial planning and strategic development.
- IamHER delivers age-appropriate financial education to middle school girls in often-overlooked communities. The grant will support refined program evaluation tools, improved financial oversight and targeted marketing to expand the organization’s reach.
- Laundry Love Fort Worth provides free laundry services to women and families facing hygiene poverty. Receiving this grant will allow this nonprofit to fund critical technology upgrades to help the organization scale and meet growing demand.
- Mental Health Connection, established in 1999 following the Wedgwood Baptist Church shooting, is a longtime advocate for mental health access. The grant will expand trauma-informed care by training nonprofit therapists in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), improving support for women and girls in need.
Women United’s Impact Fund is fueled by an endowment built through member contributions and proceeds from the Investing in Impact Luncheon and related events.
Additionally, the network allocated $25,000 toward UWTC’s maternal health programming, to support the expansion of doula services in Tarrant County and the implementation of the TeamBirth care model in local birthing hospitals.
As a surprise during the event, UWTC announced the 2025 Changemaker Woman of the Year: Lauren Team, current chair of the Women United Steering Committee. Lauren’s leadership, advocacy and unwavering commitment to community empowerment embody the spirit of Women United. Her work continues to spark meaningful change across Tarrant County.
