United Way’s Area Agency on Aging of Tarrant County won a $1,000 award during the 2017 n4a 13th Annual Aging Innovations & Achievement Awards ceremony in Savanah, GA. There were a total of 4 Top Innovations Awards winners receiving 4 awards totaling $6000. The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a).
The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) is a 501(c)(3) membership association representing America’s national network of 622 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) and providing a voice in the nation’s capital for the 256 Title VI Native American aging programs. United Way of Tarrant County is one of just a few United Way’s that have an Area Agency on Aging as a part of its organization.
Led by Don Smith, Director, the Area Agency on Aging of Tarrant County has been a strong community leader advancing the care and health for older adults and people with disabilities in our community. It partners with many local non-profits to provide a host of services including:
- Benefits counseling
- Ombudsman
- Nutrition Programs
- Caregiver Services
- Referral Services
