From Crisis to Community After The Cooper Fire

“We walked away with our lives,” said Nakeesha Richmond-Moore. “My children don’t have the trauma of running from a burning building. I didn’t lose any of my children and my children didn’t lose their mother.”

For Nakeesha, that truth kept her grounded in the days after the devastating six-alarm fire at The Cooper apartments in Fort Worth.

Equipping Students for Success: UWTC to Host Back-To-School Resource Fair

UWTC is helping students start the school year strong with a day of action focused on back-to-school preparedness. Fort Worth ISD families are invited to a free community resource fair, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 2, at Artes de la Rosa, 1440 N. Main Street, Fort Worth.
