We’re working to transform the way North Texas understands community needs, designs solutions and delivers impact.

The United Way Institute is a centralized innovation hub for research, data, program development, and design. Our focus is on equipping local nonprofit organizations with access to critical technologies and tools that allow them to embrace creativity, experimentation and adaptability while providing resources to strengthen program management and evaluation.

Institute Priorities

Research: We’ll produce community-centered research and actionable data visualization and analysis for program evaluation and impact reporting.

Innovation: Institute participants will have access to AI and Virtual Reality tools that bring their ideas to life in new ways.

Capacity Building: The Institute offers labs, workshops, cohort-based collaboration sessions and individualized technical assistance, while providing peer and expert feedback.

Best Practices Series

Monthly lunch and learn series taught by area experts exploring best practices in a variety of topics important to local nonprofit organizations.

June 4 - Risk Management: Learn how to look at your finances, understand what questions you need to be asking, and where you can go for help.
June 22 - Social Media: Post with purpose. Turn your social media into a tool for connection, visibility and real engagement.
July 14 - Leadership Development: Do you lead people? Do you want to be ready to take the next step in leadership? This workshop will help provide the tools to get there.
Aug. 27 - Measuring Outcomes: Learn how to design programs for real outcomes, use tools like logic models and theory of change, and focus on the data you need.

June 16 - Day of Innovation: Dive into bold ideas, spark new thinking, and roll up your sleeves to design real solutions you can actually put into action.
June 20 - Coffee with Community: Join North Texas Community Foundation for a cup of coffee and a chance to talk and ask questions.
