A great nonprofit organization relies on a strong board of directors. Effective board members provide direction and accountability that drive long-term impact. That’s why United Way of Tarrant County is proud to be a founding supporter and partner of BoardBuild.

BoardBuild empowers emerging and established leaders through self-paced, online board governance training. Whether you’re new to board service or ready to grow your leadership skills, BoardBuild helps you become the kind of board member nonprofits need.

BoardBuild's certification includes:

  • Board Member Basics
  • Essential Guiding Documents
  • Nonprofit Financial Essentials
  • Evaluating Agency Programs and the CEO
  • Board Meetings and Committees
  • On Your Way to Becoming a Great Board Member

Successful completion of Essentials of Nonprofit Governance certifies the individual for nonprofit board membership and unlocks the platform's matching function, enabling them to connect with local nonprofit organizations that seek their skills, expertise and unique life experiences. Nonprofits can post their open board or committee positions on the BoardBuild platform at no cost after setting up a profile in the system.

As part of our broader commitment to building resilient, connected communities, United Way of Tarrant County supports BoardBuild in cultivating the next generation of board leaders and supporting our nonprofit peers in their efforts to develop stronger boards.
