OUR HISTORY

In 1979, the City of Arlington, United Way of Tarrant County (UWTC) and concerned citizens established the Arlington Human Services Needs Assessment Project (AHSP), which identified several human service issues as priority needs in Arlington. The Arlington city council passed a resolution that authorized AHSP to serve as the advisory body for Arlington’s social service issues.

In 1981, UWTC and the City of Arlington formalized this agreement to share staffing costs funded by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and UWTC.

The partnership is managed by UWTC. AHSP was renamed United Way of Tarrant County-Arlington (UWTC- Greater Arlington) in September 2008. The UWTC- Greater Arlington office is located in Arlington at 401 W. Sanford St, Suite 2600.
