Friday, April 17, 2026

FORT WORTH, Texas (April 20, 2026) – United Way of Tarrant County (UWTC) will host its 6th annual Women United Investing in Impact Luncheon on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at River Ranch Stockyards in Fort Worth. The event will bring together community leaders and supporters to celebrate the strength, resilience and leadership of women across Tarrant County.

During the luncheon, Women United will award $115,000 in grants to local organizations focused on helping women and girls access quality education, build job skills and create pathways to long-term success. These investments reflect United Way’s continued commitment to expanding opportunity and supporting economic mobility for women and families across the region.

The program will also feature a panel discussion highlighting Resilient Women of Tarrant County, moderated by Jordan Stimpson, partner at Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP. The conversation will spotlight women who have paved their own paths through determination and leadership, offering insight and inspiration for attendees.

Panelists include:

  • Kari Crowe Seher, founder and CEO of MELT Ice Creams
  • Sarah Castillo, Fort Worth entrepreneur
  • Melinda Nguyen, women’s flag football head coach at The University of Texas at Arlington

“Women United reflects the power of collective investment in women and girls across our community,” said Adam D. Powell, president and CEO of United Way of Tarrant County. “When we come together to support access to opportunity, we are not only impacting individual lives, we are strengthening families and building a more resilient Tarrant County. This luncheon is a celebration of the women leading that charge, while also serving as a catalyst for continued investment in solutions that create lasting, generational change.”

The Women United Luncheon is part of UWTC’s broader mission to bring people, resources and ideas together to advance education, financial stability and health across Tarrant County.
