Today is National Ombudsman Day, and the perfect time to highlight Tiffany McLennan, managing local ombudsman for our Area Agency on Aging of Tarrant County (AAATC).
Tiffany leads with purpose, compassion and a deep commitment to older adults in long-term care. In her role, she oversees a team of staff and volunteers who advocate for residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, protecting their rights and ensuring their voices are heard.
“Whether I’m supporting staff through urgent cases, visiting residents to investigate concerns, or raising awareness about residents’ rights, each day brings a different challenge and a chance to make a difference,” said Tiffany.
Drawn to this work through personal family experiences and childhood volunteer service, Tiffany says what inspires her most is helping older adults maintain dignity and quality of life. She joined the AAATC for the opportunity to be part of a mission-driven organization that drives real impact in the community.
“If I can make someone’s day easier or more comfortable, I know I’m doing something that matters.”
Today and every day, we celebrate Tiffany and all ombudsmen for their tireless advocacy and the critical role they play in building a more compassionate, informed and respectful community for older adults.
