The Area Agency on Aging of Tarrant County (AAATC) exists to serve older adults, people with disabilities and their caregivers. As part of a network of 620+ Area Agencies on Aging nationwide, one of 28 in the state of Texas, and the only one in Texas that is part of a United Way, we connect people with the resources they need to thrive – independently, if possible. All Area Agency on Aging services are provided at no cost to those who need them.
Health care benefit counseling
We can help navigate through the tough decisions people must make about health care options, answering questions about Medicare, Medicaid, prescription coverage, long-term care, advance directives and more.
Advocates for residents in long-term care centers and assisted living
An ombudsman is a trained volunteer who advocates for quality of life for those living in long-term care facilities, helping them maintain dignity, respect, choice and as much independence as possible.
Aging in place support
The Area Agency on Aging can provide minor home modifications, small medical equipment or someone to assist in the home, so older family members – or those living with disabilities – can live at home comfortably.
Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC)
The ADRC of Tarrant County connects older adults, individuals with disabilities, veterans and caregivers to the services they need to live safely, independently and with dignity.
