Help Low-Income, Working Families Get More from Their Tax Returns

Loving Family I Stock SliderYou can help low-income, working families get more out of their tax returns by volunteering to provide free IRS-supported income tax assistance. You'll get free training as an income tax preparer, or you can volunteer to do something else.

You'll be part of the volunteer team at one of the free tax preparation centers funded by United Way and operated by Catholic Charities from January 28 through April 17.

The centers enable families who make less than $50,000 a year to get their taxes done for free and help them claim all available tax credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). They are part of United Way's "Earn Well" initiative to help more low-income working families in Tarrant County become financially stable.
