United Way Works To Decrease Obesity In Tarrant County

Obesity is a critical health problem in

Tarrant County. One in three Tarrant County

residents are overweight. The prevalence of diabetes, high blood pressure and other health problems associated with obesity is higher here than state and national averages and the associated medical costs are staggering.

The United Way is committed to decreasing obesity in Tarrant County through
the United Way FitFuture network. Registered members of the network will commit
to decreasing obesity in their neighborhoods, workplaces, schools or other
locations. They will set specific goals, determine action plans, share best practices,
provide encouragement and achieve measurable results.
