DAYS OF CARING 2005


United Way thanks these organizations that participated in the 2005 Days of Caring program.

Projects ranged from building picnic tables at a Girl Scout camp to hosting a bingo party for senior citizens.

Allied Electronics -- Planted flowers and painted at Mental Health Association

AT&T -- Sorted food and other donations at SafeHaven of Tarrant County (formerly The Women’s Shelter)

BNSF Railway Company -- Worked with children in YWCA child care center; painted rooms at Catholic Charities

Celebration Fellowship -- Sorted clothing and other donations at GRACE (Grapevine Relief And Community Exchange)

Countrywide Mortgage -- Painted rooms and landscaped at SafeHaven of Tarrant County (formerly Women’s Haven) 

Deloitte & Touche -- Cleaned shed and built picnic tables at YMCA Camp Carter

Enterprise Rent-A-Car -- Planted flowers and painted at Mental Health Association

Exposure Program -- Worked in food pantry of Community Enrichment Center

Fort Worth Association of Health Underwriters -- Hosted bingo party for senior citizens at Community Enrichment Center

GE -- Painted rooms at SafeHaven of Tarrant County (formerly Women’s Haven)

Oil States Industries -- Helped build and stock a library for Arlington Life Shelter; held donation drive for hurricane relief  

Pfizer -- Worked with children at Airport Area Branch of the YMCA

Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity of TCU -- Painted, cleaned and helped with outdoor work at ABC Day Care

Pier 1 Imports -- Painted rooms, provided new furniture, landscaped, fixed up playground and did other refurbishing and redecorating at Catholic Charities Assessment Center for abused and neglected children

Radiant Systems -- Landscaped at United Community Centers; hosted holiday party for senior citizens at Community Enrichment Center; held donation drive for Hurricane Katrina evacuees 

Sabre Holdings -- Helped in food pantry/kitchen at GRACE (Grapevine Relief And Community Exchange)

Texas Health Resources -- Sorted clothing at the YWCA resale shop

Transitions -- Organized supply room and landscaped at SafeHaven of Tarrant County (formerly The Women’s Shelter and Women's Haven)

Traulsen & Company -- Sorted clothes and worked in YWCA resale shop; served meal at Salvation Army emergency shelter; helped with children's Christmas party at Community Enrichment Center

XTO Energy -- Cleared brush and cleaned cabins at Girl Scout Camp Timberlake
