United Way of Tarrant County has selected Tim McKinney
as its new president and CEO.

A native of Fort Worth,
McKinney formerly was executive vice president at Texas
Capital Bank. He has been active in both the nonprofit and
business communities in Tarrant County for the past 30
years.
“We are delighted that we
are able to fill this important role with someone as
qualified and experienced as Tim McKinney,” said Tom
Hund, chairman of United Way's board of directors.
“He brings exceptional leadership and management skills
formed during his extensive banking career, as well as
deep relationships throughout Tarrant County.”
McKinney earned a bachelor’s
of business administration in financial management from
Texas Christian University and then served in the Air
Force as a captain and wing navigator in Vietnam. He
also attended the National Graduate Trust School of
Northwestern University and served there as a member of
the board of regents. A Certified Financial Planning
Counselor, McKinney retired as president of Bank of
America, Fort Worth in 2000.
“Tim is a respected business leader
and has been involved with United Way for many years,"
said Ann Rice, United Way's executive vice president of
community development. "He
has shown deep commitment to community change, as a
volunteer in many organizations throughout Tarrant
County, and now as a professional within United Way.”
McKinney has played an
active role with Botanical Research Institute of Texas,
Baylor All Saints Medical Centers, Performing Arts Fort
Worth, Inc., Fort Worth Museum of Science and History,
the Van Cliburn Foundation, Arts Council of Fort Worth
and Tarrant County, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, James
L. West Presbyterian Special Care Center, Texas
Christian University College of Education and The
Exchange Club.
“I have spent 36 rewarding
and successful years in the Fort Worth banking
community, but the opportunity to serve as president of
the United Way of Tarrant County was one I could not let
pass by,” McKinney said. “Nothing has energized me as
much as being involved in community service, so I look
forward to working with our United Way staff, board and
volunteers in meeting the human service needs in our
communities.”
Tim is married to Ann
McKinney, and they have two children. |
