UNITED WAY TO CO-SPONSOR DEC. 1 WORKSHOP LED BY BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF "LET'S HAVE LUNCH TOGETHER"

United Way of Tarrant County and the Funding Information Center will co-sponsor a daylong workshop December 1 presented by the author of the nationally-acclaimed bestseller “Let’s Have Lunch Together: How to Reach Out and Build More Powerful Relationships.” The book’s cover describes it as “a learning novel for nonprofits.”

Author Marshall Howard will present the fun, interactive workshop titled “Opportunities Go Where Relationships Flow” from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Intermodal Transportation Center, 1001 Jones in downtown Fort Worth.

United Way and the Funding Information Center have arranged for the workshop to be offered for $135 per person rather than the regular price of $375. (No proceeds go to either organization.) The registration fee includes two complimentary copies of “Let’s Have Lunch Together,” workshop materials, continental breakfast and lunch. (One copy of the book will be sent before the workshop.)

Participants can register by completing the workshop registration form at www.marshallhoward.com or by calling Marshall Howard and Associates at 818-340-9202, extension 11.

United Way President Tim Carter and Funding Information Center Executive Director Teresa Wright have read and used the book and believe that all fund raisers would find it practical and useful.

Workshop participants will learn how to:

  • Transform their boards into productive mission partners and fund-raising champions

  • Engage new, influential supporters onto their development teams

  • Turn small donations into major gifts

  • Move from hello to a connection in five minutes with people they want to know

  • Move into a stronger relationship with select people critical to their work

  • Conquer the two biggest relationship-blockers and master the four key fundamentals

  • Transform volunteer relationships into high-performance partnerships

  • Identify and deliver more high-impact supporter wins

  • Make the "relationship un-ask" and become super coaches to their supporters

Praise for Marshall Howard and “Let’s Have Lunch Together”:
