COWBOYS JOIN UNITED WAY FOR HOMETOWN HUDDLE

Members of the Dallas Cowboys recently teamed up with United Way of Tarrant County for a morning of exercise and healthy snacks with preschoolers at the All Stars Child Care Center in Arlington. The event was part of “Hometown Huddle,” a day of service projects conducted by NFL teams across the country in partnership with United Ways. (More photos.)

Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck, United Way CEO Tim Carter and Fort Worth Public Health Director Dan Reimer welcomed the Cowboys players and cheerleaders. The child care center and the boys and girls themselves were decked out in Cowboys blue and silver in honor of the special guests.

The Cowboys presented a $2,500 donation from the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Charities to the All Stars Child Care Center to buy exercise equipment to enhance health and early development. They gave the children small footballs, while United Way provided nutritious snacks and tips for parents
on how to incorporate exercise and healthy eating into young lives. Childhood obesity and early
learning are among
Tarrant County United Way’s five main areas of concern.
