The Texas Workforce Commission has honored HEB Transit with the Service to Workers Award.

Initiated by United Way-Northeast in partnership with other groups, HEB Transit is a free transportation service for limited-income people in Hurst, Euless and Bedford who need help getting to work, job training, child care and human service agencies. It was nominated for the award by the Tarrant County Workforce Development Board.

Community leaders rank the lack of transporta-tion as the most serious problem in Northeast Tarrant County.
