Mike Guyton, vice president of customer operations and
community relations for Oncor Electric Delivery, has
been named chair of the 2008 Tarrant County United Way
campaign.

“Working with all of the
great businesses and business leaders here in Tarrant
County to raise a lot of money and help untold numbers
of people is going to be a joy,” said Guyton.
Guyton is a member of the
United Way Board of Directors and the organization's
Compensation Committee. He also serves on the boards of
Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas, Harris
Methodist Hospital, the Fort Worth Zoo, Fort Worth
Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Fort Worth, Inc., JPS
Foundation and UTA Fort Worth Advisory Council.
“Mike is a great choice for
this position,” said Tim McKinney, Tarrant County United
Way president and CEO. “He is very involved with the
business community, so he understands giving in that
sector. In his community relations role, he also
understands the needs that exist in Tarrant County."
Guyton began his career at
TXU while he was earning his bachelor’s degree in
electrical engineering from the University of Texas at
Arlington. He has held many jobs as he advanced through
the company’s ranks, including vice president of Oncor
Electric Asset Ownership, vice president of gas asset
services for TXU Gas, vice president of customer service
for TXU Energy and vice president of communications and
community relations for TXU Electric Delivery. |
