Special Focus: Early Learning and Development

United Way makes an impact in the community by nurturing children and youth. Children need a caring, positive start in life to develop properly and avoid future problems. United Way is working with parents and child care providers to make child care and early childhood development as excellent and affordable as possible.

Older children need a safe place to play and learn after school. Teen pregnancy, youth gangs and dropping out of school can have lasting consequences for young people and those around them. United Way is partnering with Tarrant County groups to provide youth with tutoring, positive adult role models, and leadership programs that develop self-esteem and decision-making skills.

Giving children a great start in life and helping them succeed: that’s what matters.
