Tell Us How You LIVE UNITED

A cool breeze blew through Allstars Learning Center in Arlington this summer when ONCOR ELECTRIC DELIVERY employees weatherized its center as well as two other child development centers and the homes of several older adults. Upgrading centers that serve lower-income families and helping isolated seniors are United Way priorities. Caulking, weatherstripping and foam insulation made doors, windows and other openings air-tight to keep cool air in and hot air out. New fluorescent light bulbs and air conditioner filters were installed to keep utility bills in check. “We feel a big difference now,” said Allstars Director Josie Villarreal. “Even the parents say it’s much cooler and ask if we’ve put in a new air conditioner.”
