United Way Volunteer Opportunities
2-1-1 Texas
2-1-1 Texas, United Way's information and referral service, has volunteer opportunities during times of disaster such as hurricanes, floods and tornados. During a disaster, 2-1-1 needs up to 20 volunteers to work in four-hour shifts 24 hours a day. Volunteers work closely with dedicated 2-1-1 professionals to respond to callers seeking information about evacuation routes, transportation, shelters, food, water and more. To join the volunteer program, fill out and return an application form. For more information, contact Estela Jimenez at 817-635-4217 or estela.jimenez@unitedwaytarrant.org.
Days of Caring
United Way's Days of Caring program helps volunteer groups do short-term community service projects for nonprofit agencies and other organizations involved in specific United Way initiatives.
Annual United Way Campaign
If a United Way campaign is held where you work, see if you can help plan and implement it. If there isn't a United Way campaign at your organization, discuss the possibility of starting one with your supervisor. United Way staff can provide all of the tools you will need to carry out a successful campaign.
For more information, contact Lynn Pharr at lynn.pharr@unitedwaytarrant.org or 817-258-8046.
